A bit of luck appeared before my feet in the shape of a €50 note dropped on the street. I used the money towards an new iPhone for my wife as I was due an upgrade. Welcome to the Cult Yvonne.

66/365 - Blown Out

On the way home yesterday I saw this tree, it had beautiful evening light on it and really stood out from the hills and corn. I didn't stop to take it. Passing again today I did stop, but the sun was high, harsh and pretty much in front of me and the haze was strong so I got nothing that I liked. This shows an exaggeration of the harsh light conditions and it stands as a reminder that on with Project365, you don't get a second chance.

Seems like today was the first weekend of the year where the kids could play outside for any length of time. Dry, bit of warmth from the sun, even an ice cream van.

64/365 - Front Page

Today I had one of my photos published on the front page of the Irish Times website. Fate and someone else's bad luck left me in a position to take shots of the aftermath of a school fire in Athy. The 150 year old school burned down last night which is very sad. But every cloud etc, Yvonne pushed me to send the pics into the papers and the Irish Times used two of them. The pics themselves aren't any good, so today's Project 365 is a screen shot the front page for posterity. The other photo was used here.

This is one spooky looking fella. The motion blur makes him look like a ghost, and he's on the Luas Red Line! Can you get more sinister?

A year and a couple of days ago I took my shiny new camera down to The Dodder and took a picture of, well, a weir. A year on, I find that old shot a bit dull. These days the abstract catches my eye more.

On an overcast day like today, it can be hard for me to find something that catches my eye. However this scene made me think of old oriental art, something that wouldn't have happened with a sunny blue sky.
