Actually he’s German.  First picture from our trip to the Ulster American Folk Park.  It’s an ace place, highly recommend it.  And it’s a must if you’re a history geek or a photographer.

One from the archives.  On a very hot June night in Beijing,  people browsed through magazines at a street vendor.  Beijing is a bit low on street lights in places and this stall shone like an oasis.

The South Kildare Medieval Festival was in Athy this weekend. Lots of jousting, duels, weaving and falconry. This Golden Eagle is a beautiful creature, always on the lookout, as was his owner. More photos from the festival on Flickr
